A little clarity
Your privacy.
Good hospitality starts with clarity. Here is how information moves through this design concept.
Last updated: 4 November 2026About this site
THE CAFE is a fictional restaurant design concept. Its menu, prices, photography and guest stories are illustrative. This notice describes the behaviour implemented in this website.
The site does not offer accounts, take payments or run a booking database. It has no form-submission service of its own.
What stays in your browser
Your cart stores dish identifiers and quantities in your browser’s local storage under the-cafe-cart. This lets the same browser remember your selections after you leave. It does not store your name, phone number or form messages in the cart.
A session-storage flag, the-cafe-welcomed, remembers whether the homepage introduction has played during your browsing session. You can remove cart items on the cart page or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Browser storage may be unavailable in restricted browsing modes; the cart then works only while the page remains open.
Your forms and enquiries
Reservation and contact details are used in the current page to prepare a WhatsApp message. Opening WhatsApp passes those details in a prefilled-message URL to that service. Review the details before sending; this website does not send the message or confirm a booking.
The prefilled URL can include your name, mobile number, requested date and time, party size and any message you enter. It may be retained in browser history or by the external service. Avoid including payment details or information you do not want to share. Once you send a message, its handling belongs to the recipient and WhatsApp.
Maps and external services
The homepage and contact page embed OpenStreetMap. When the embedded map loads, your browser connects to that provider and shares ordinary connection information, such as your IP address. Directions links open Google Maps. WhatsApp links and phone links open the relevant external service or app.
Those services apply their own privacy practices. The illustrative address hello@thecafe.example does not receive messages and is not used as a form destination.
Technical information
This site’s source does not install analytics, advertising trackers or marketing cookies. The hosting service may process normal request and security logs when serving pages and images; that processing is separate from the cart and forms described here.
Menu searches and selected filters can appear in the page URL and your browser history. They contain the search or filter you chose, rather than your contact form details.
Questions and updates
Use the contact page to prepare a question about this concept or a message you intend to share. Do not send sensitive identity documents through the enquiry form.
If the implemented data flows change, this notice should change with them. The date above identifies this version.
